Gachiakuta anime US premiere

The U.S. premiere of Gachiakuta’s anime adaptation will be held at Anime Expo on July 4, two days before its global streaming debut.

The premiere event is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. PDT in the Platinum Ballroom of the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The screening will feature the first two episodes of the series. Following the screening, a panel discussion will take place with key creators of the original manga and the new anime adaptation.

Panelists will include Kei Urana, the author and artist of the manga; Hideyoshi Andou, who provides the graffiti designs for the series; and Naoki Amano, a producer from the animation studio, Bones Film.

In addition to the premiere, Anime Expo will host other Gachiakuta-related events and installations.

The U.S. premiere of Gachiakuta anime is part of the Gachiakuta World Takeover, a global promotional campaign by Crunchyroll in partnership with Kodansha, Avex, and Bones.

A new main trailer and key visual were released as part of the campaign’s launch.

“There’s a raw, emotional current in Gachiakuta that will resonate with fans the moment they see it,” said Gita Rebbapragada, Crunchyroll’s Chief Operating Officer, in a statement.

“These promotional efforts are designed to match the excitement and intensity of this remarkable story and hook them into an unforgettable narrative journey.”

The U.S. event is part of a broader global premiere plan that includes screenings in 14 other countries and regions.

Showings have also been announced for Japan Expo in Paris, France, on July 4; a screening in Mumbai, India, on July 4; and an event in Berlin, Germany, on July 5.

Additional premieres are set for Brazil and Mexico, with dates and times to be announced.

The Gachiakuta manga, written and illustrated by Urana, began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in February 2022.
